Diary Dates 2016

18 May - Dancing at The Lighter, Topsham, with our friends Glory of the West

4 June - West Country Traditions Day, The Strand, Exmouth

16 July - Tiverton Medieval Charter Fair

31 July - Sidmouth Folk Week, as part of massed dance display on promenade.

Performances

Alive & Kicking are equipped with a portable dance floor for outdoor and indoor performances. This requires a reasonably level surface and measures up to 5 metres x 5 metres. The band has its own P.A. system, which requires a 13 amp power source.

Whatever the occasion, from ceilidh to festival, Alive & Kicking can provide an exuberant dance display to the melodies and exciting rhythms in the music of their own string band.

Workshops

In addition to arena and street displays, the team offers workshops in Appalachian clogging at all levels, and beginners' classes are held in the autumn at The Exeter Phoenix Arts Centre. No previous dance experience is necessary for beginners' workshops, the emphasis is on simple steps with lots of movement and, above all, fun!
